Joo Won and Moon Chae-won, the main stars of KBS’ medical drama, The Good Doctor (written by Park Jae-bum, directed by Ki Min-soo, produced by LOGOS Film) are shown exchanging a friendly and loving cheer, putting their fists together ahead of a surgery. It was Park Shi-on’s (played by Joo Won) special way of cheering on Cha Yoon-suh (played by Moon Chae-won) as she prepared to go into surgery.
The fist action by the two excited the audience as it was a show of emotions for the two blossoming lovers, and created yet another memorable scene in the drama. The innocent Park Shi-on putting his fist out first towards Cha Yoon-suh was a sign that he has started to acknowledge his strange feelings towards Cha. He used to hiccup everytime Cha would touch him without much meaning, but him reaching out to her first showed a subtle change in his character. The scene was a foreshadow of the romance expected to blossom between the two.
The filming took place on set in Anseong, Gyeonggi Province. The two actors appeared on set with big smiles and big hellos, heating up the atmosphere. The scene may seem like a simple one, but Park Shi-on had to convey the fluttering excitement of his heart. Although it was a short scene, the two discussed it thoroughly and showed much passion in bringing their characters alive. When the camera started rolling, the two were totally immersed in the scene bringing about a feeling a romance and excitement in a natural way.
As the two had to hold out their fists as soon as they locked eyes, there were some NG‘s because Joo Won paused for a slight moment and both lowered their heads, or they both started laughing. Cast and crew members on set said the two were always bright and cheerful wherever they were, so everyone had fun during the shoot.
