Recently, Joo Won and Sulli were cast in the movie “Fashion King.” On January 5, the movie’s distributor Next Entertainment World (NEW) revealed the rest of the cast.
“Fashion King” is about a high school boy, Woo Ki Myung, who is determined to become the coolest guy in the world in order to be noticed by a girl in the same class. The movie is based on a webtoon of the same name by comic artist Kian84, and will be directed by Oh Ki Hwan, whose works include “Last Present” and “Art of Seduction.”
Joining the previously announced cast of Joo Won, f(x)’s Sulli and Kim Sung Oh are Park Se Young and Ahn Jae Hyun. Joo Won will play Woo Ki Myung, while Sulli will play Eun Ji, who has a one-sided crush on Ki Myung.
Park Se Young will play Hye Jin, the girl who steals Ki Myung’s heart. She gained attention from her roles in SBS drama “Faith” and KBS 2TV’s “School 2013,” and was recently cast in the “We Got Married” alongside 2PM’s Wooyoung.
Currently appearing as Chun Song Yi’s (Jun Ji Hyun) brother on SBS drama “Man from the Stars,” model-turned actor Ahn Jae Hyun will play the school jjang, Won Ho, and Woo Ki Myung’s rival. Kim Sung Oh will play fashion mentor, Nam Jung, to Ki Myung.|
Director Oh Ki Hwan revealed, “It’s exciting that stars who are getting a lot of attention will be doing this film together. I’m happy that a great webtoon, ‘Fashion King,’ is being made into a movie. We’ve prepared for this movie for a long time, and make the movie as fun and interesting as the original work.”
With casting complete, “Fashion King” will begin filming mid-month and is aiming for a release in the second half of the year.
