With talks of a Korean version of the famed Japanese drama, Nodame Cantabile, Joo Won’s name has been mentioned for the male lead.
On February 25, Newsen spoke with Joo Won’s agency on whether or not the actor will star in the drama.
“There were talks about a possible appearance, but we haven’t received an official offer,” said the agency. “We haven’t received a synopsis or a script yet either.”
The company added, “It’s too early to be talking about whether he’ll appear or not.”
Joo Won is currently speeding through the year, filming for his new movie Fashion King while acting in the musical Ghost.
Meanwhile, Nodame Cantabile is a popular Japanese manga that was later produced into a drama and a movie, starring Ueno Juri and Tamaki Hiroshi. The production became very popular in Korea as well.
IU was also mentioned for a possible appearance as the female lead, but IU’s agency stated that it has never received an offer.
