KBS2's Medical Drama 'Good Doctor' garnered much attention when it was first announced for it's star-studded cast and unique story plot surrounding a sensitive topic, autism.
As 'Good Doctor' finally comes to a close after a 10-week long run, the audiences will bound to miss Dr. Park Shi On's quirky charms and Dr. Cha Yoon Seo's warmth.
Looking back, 'Good Doctor' proves to be a chart topping, slowly rising in the ranks in their viewership ratings. The drama pilot started off slow with an average of 10.7% but actor Joo Won have once again proved his prowess in the game of viewership ratings, beating out the likes of Goddess of Fire, Jeongyi and Empire of Gold. After the end of Empire of Gold, SBS's new Monday-Tuesday drama Suspicious Housekeeper was still no match to Good Doctor. The medical drama succeeded in clearing the 20% mark by the 12th episode and once again securing it in the 16th episode.
Regardless, the medical-themed drama intertwined with office politics and romance was unable keep the attention of viewers. The slow progress in characters' developments and lack of climax might have contributed to the ratings slumping sightly back into the 18% - 19% range towards its close.
Despite all these, 'Good Doctor' ended on a warm and happy note — with an average of 18.0% in nationwide viewership ratings — deserving a round of applause for all their hard work and effort.
